• Home made Pizza on Saturday with children!

Antonio and I always thought that we would be parents that would get a babysitter and go out all the time. After having our baby arrived reality has set in. Trustworthy babysitters are hard to find, they are expensive and, above all, babies grow up too fast and we do not want miss anything.
So we have become creative with our Saturday nights at home. Together with our little children we make every Saturday a new recipe: special desserts, chocolate cookies, 100 recipes for chicken and, of course, pizza.

Yesterday it was our Saturday night with homemade pizza – lots of cheese for Antonio, white pizza for the little boys, and mushrooms, rucola, crudo and parmisan for me.

Pizza dough recipe from the kitchen of SicilianFood Lovers – Serves: 4 pizzas with a diameter of 30 cm
    water about 600ml
extra virgin olive oil 6 tablespoons
    sugar 2 tablespoons
    salt about 20 g
    yeast 25 g
    flour 1 kg

Put the flour on a pastry board (or in a large bowl) and form a hole in the center. Put a glass of warm water into a bowl, add yeast and sugar and stir until melted. Pour it in the center of the flour. Put another glass of warm water in another bowl, add salt and oil, stir until melted and pour it in the center of the flour. Keep close to you some flour and the remaining warm water to add little by little until the dough is soft and elastic. Knead until the dough is smooth and soft but consistent. Form a ball and let it rest in a large bowl (remember that the dough will double in volume) with some flour on the bottom.
Cover the bowl with a clean cloth and store it in a warm place.
Wait until the dough has doubled in size (it will take from 1 and ½ until 2 hours).

Here is the base for your pizza. Now just create your own favourite pizza with your desirable toppings!!!
