Interesting picture of the Sicilian sky during a Scirocco storm from the Sahara Desert. This is a very hot and – at the same time – humid wind. Sicilian climate has different features according to the different areas of the island: here, on the Northern side, across the coast, we have hot summers and mild winters.
There are higher temperatures across the Southern coast and even across the hinterland. Rainfalls are rare. On the mountains, above 1600 m, there is a solid blank of snow, which allows the practice of skiing and of other typical winter sports.
